New Chipotle Location Opens in Flushing With Borough’s First Chipotle Walk-Up Window

The new Chipotle location in Flushing is now open (Chipotle Mexican Grill)

A new Chiptole restaurant — the first Queens location with a walk-up window — opened in Flushing Thursday.

The casual Mexican eatery opened at 136-31 Roosevelt Ave. and offers the usual menu items including burritos, burrito bowls, tacos, quesadillas, salads, guacamole, chips and queso. The restaurant is open daily from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The location is the 15th Chipotle restaurant in Queens, but the first in the borough — and the second citywide — to have a walk-up window for customers picking up digital orders.

The new feature allows customers to pick up their to-go orders without having to go inside the restaurant. The first Chipotle location with a walk-up window opened in Brooklyn earlier this year.

Customers must place an order either online at Chipotle.com or through the Chipotle app to pick up their food at the walk-out window.

Customers can also use the website and app to round up their bill to the nearest dollar amount in order to donate their change to The American Red Cross, a nonprofit that provides emergency assistance, disaster relief and disaster preparedness education.

There are more than 181 Chipotle locations across the state — 97 of which are located in the five boroughs.

Lithium-ion battery sparked Murray Hill house fire on Sunday evening: FDNY

FDNY fire marshals have determined that a Murray Hill house fire was caused by a lithium-ion battery on Sunday evening.

The FDNY responded to a report of a basement fire at 164-18 Pidgeon Meadow Rd., just before 7:30 p.m., where firefighters discovered approximately 100 lithium-ion batteries burning in the cellar. The property owner was operating an illegal lithium-ion battery repair business inside the home, and multiple micro-mobility devices and lithium-ion batteries were found in various states of disassembly and disrepair.
