Car aficionados will have several chances to see some classic cars in person this summer in northeast Queens.

Real estate group Cord Meyer Development and Jackie DeLuca & the Queens Classic Car Club will kick off their first car show on Tuesday, May 24 at the Bay Terrace Shopping Center with around 100 vintage cars on display. The event will take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The free event will then run every second Tuesday for eight weeks through Aug. 30. Rain dates are reserved for the Tuesdays between events.

Each car show will feature live music and raffles for charity. Kicking off the festivities on May 24, the Lisa Polizzi Band will be performing popular covers from soul to country to rock.

“We are thrilled to welcome back this enjoyable, family-friendly event,” said Joe Forgione, the controller for Cord Meyer Development, which owns the Bay Terrace Shopping Center.

“The Bay Terrace Shopping Center is the heart of the community and has so much to offer, including great casual dining options. It’s the perfect place for a car show.”

The Queens Classic Car Club was founded in 2013 and is dedicated to promoting the classic car hobby and educating the public on the historical significance of automobiles.

Cord Meyer was founded in 1904 and is a developer, owner and operator of retail, commercial and residential properties in Queens and the surrounding New York metro area, including Bay Terrace.

The Bay Terrace Shopping Center was developed from the Meyer family farm and has grown along with the community for more than 60 years.

More information about the car shows and car club can be found online and on Facebook.
