Car aficionados will have several chances to see some classic cars in person this summer in northeast Queens.
Real estate group Cord Meyer Development and Jackie DeLuca & the Queens Classic Car Club kicked off their first car show last week at the Bay Terrace shopping center with around 100 vintage cars on display.
The free event was just the first of many scheduled this summer. Each car show also features live music as well as a 50/50 raffle benefiting Saint Mary’s Hospital for Children.
“We want to thank the car clubs and everyone who made our first car show this summer such a success,” said Matthew Whalen, CEO of Cord Meyer which owns the Bay Terrace shopping center.
“Today’s Bay Terrace is much more than a shopping center. We’re a community destination that presents fun events like the car show alongside important human services, including blood drives, job fairs and dress-for-success initiatives.”
Future show dates are scheduled for Aug. 3, Aug. 17 and Aug. 31. All shows run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Bay Terrace shopping center, located at 212-45 26th Ave.
Cover bands such as Contraband, Chicken Head Rocks and Bootleg Five are some of the performers for the summer car series.
