A Long Island woman was sentenced to more than 20 years in prison for speeding through an NYPD roadblock while drunk and killing a highway patrolman in a 2021 hit-and-run collision on the Long Island Expressway in Fresh Meadows.
Nov. 20, 2023 By Bill Parry A 35-year-old woman was struck by a hit-and-run driver near the Clearview Expressway in Bayside last week, according to authorities. Police from the 111th Precinct in Bayside are looking for the motorist who sped away from the scene of the collision that left the victim injured and lying on the roadway at around 6 a.m. on Nov. 14. EMS responded and rushed the woman to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition, police said.
