During the 28-day period from Dec. 25 to Jan. 21, the number of reported rapes went down 20% in northern Queens, from 15 reported cases last year to 12 this year. The suspect entered Laterna Estiatorio & Catering, located at 47-20 Bell Blvd. in Bayside, five blocks south of Northern Boulevard, through a backdoor just before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22.
