A number of elected officials are calling on the City to open vaccination sites in Northeast Queens.

The legislators penned a letter to Mayor Bill de Blasio Tuesday expressing the need for the city to open sites in Northeast Queens.

“We write to you expressing our concern and disappointment with the lack of vaccination sites in the districts we represent,” the letter reads, which was signed by State Sen. John Liu, as well as Assembly Members Nily Rozic and Edward Braunstein, as well as Council Members Barry Grodenchik, Paul Vallone and Peter Koo.

“Our constituents in Northeast Queens need a vaccination site that is more accessible to them than what is currently being offered,” the letter says.

“While we understand that vaccine supply is limited and more locations are slated to open in coming weeks, it is critical that we get sites up and running to ensure ease of access as the vaccination rollout continues.”

The lawmakers said they welcomed the 24/7 site at Citi Field although noted that it was not within reach for many seniors, particularly at a time when travel options to the stadium are limited.

The officials said they would work with the city to identity locations.
