Driver Dead After Crashing His SUV on Laurelton Parkway in Queens

A man is dead after losing control of his SUV while driving eastbound on the Laurelton Parkway on Saturday.

Shalik Robinson, 43, of Roslyn in Long Island, was driving a 2015 Cadillac Escalade at around 6:20 p.m. when he struck a right guardrail near Merrick Boulevard, causing his vehicle to then cross three lanes and hit the left guardrail.

Police responded to the scene and Robinson was transported to Long Island Jewish Valley Stream Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
