Man Attacks Asian Woman on Jackson Heights Street, Makes Series of Racist Statements: NYPD

Suspect wanted for a robbery and bias attack in Jackson Heights in Aug. 27 (NYPD)

The police have released video of a man who allegedly punched an Asian woman in the face in Jackson Heights last month and hurled a volley of racist statements.

The victim, a 56-year-old woman, was walking in the vicinity of 37th Avenue and 75th Street at around 6:55 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 27 when a man struck her in the back of the head with a plastic bottle before punching her in the face.

The suspect then ripped off the victim’s chain off her neck and made a number of anti-Asian statements.

The man then fled the scene on foot eastbound on 37th Road. He took the woman’s chain.

The alleged perpetrator is described as being a dark-skinned male who wore a dark-colored shirt, black shorts and black sneakers.
